Herb Grenda’s French Dressing

Herb Grenda must have been a friend of Jane’s. He was born in 1909 in Indiana, and can be found as a varsity football player for the Missouri Tigers back in ’33, ’34 and ’35. He was married to Alice on July 4, 1937 and they were together the rest of their lives. Herb died in 1976. Herb’s wife Alice was descended from Green Hills Pioneers to northern Missouri.

Herb Grenda’s French Dressing

1 1/2 c sugar

2 c salad oil

1 c vinegar (scant)

1 c catsup

3/4 tsp salt

1 tsp Worchestershire sauce

Heat slightly til sugar is dissolved.

Add 2 onions grated

Beat til thoroughly mixed

Optional – add 1 clove garlic and let it remain in dressing
