Ice Box Rolls (Georgia Neill)
1 cake compressed yeast
1/2 c lukewarm water
1/2 tsp sugar
Let stand one hour
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
Cream together
Add 1 beaten egg
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 cups warm water
Thicken with about 8 cups flour, knead on board. Put in bowl and let rise. Dough is now ready for use or may be put in ice box and baked as needed.
