Although this doesn’t say so, this is a recipe for frosting. It seems it would benefit from some flavoring, maybe vanilla, and you could easily add any food coloring you like.
Large Cake (frosting)
1 box powdered sugar
8 Tbs Crisco
1/4 c water
Whip until fluffy
How much is a “box” of Powdered Sugar? A measure in cups would be helpful.

I saw the title of you post and I was thinking “Large Cake” was going to be a generic really big cake–for taking to church suppers or something.
A box of powdered sugar is usually about 4 cups of powdered sugar. It depends if you sift it or anything. I have a recipe somewhere that calls for sifting an entire box (takes forever and Ii don’t even remember what it’s for since I never make it anymore–I just remember the agony of sifting!) Most boxes will tell you on the nutrition panel how many servings in the box (like a tablespoon) and then you can do the math to figure out how much.
