Waffles

Before there was Bisquick and Aunt Jemima, people knew how to make pancakes and waffles from scratch. No Batter Blaster available? Use what your grandma used and rest assured it wasn’t made six or eight weeks ago. I am pretty good with pancakes but not so good with waffles.  I have a waffle iron but the waffles always come out crispy on the  edges and mushy on the insides. Oh well, I will have to continue practicing!

This must have been a popular recipe at this lady’s house as she has made notes for a 1 1/2 times recipe. I love her little scratches off to the side doing the math. Fractions are hard! Anyway, I’ll list the measurements for 1 1/2 recipe in italics after the ingredient name.
