This pie recipe is written on a bank deposit slip. It’s a little hard to decipher and it looks as though Gram wrote it in a hurry. I’m not clear on the process but could probably figure it out after a few tries. My guess is that “p juice” might be pineapple juice. The recipe is mainly for the filling. Use whatever crust recipe you like. I happen to like Pillsbury prepared crust. :-)
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbs flour
6 tbs p juice ?
2 cups cherries
Whipped ice cream
I don’t believe that is Gram’s handwriting. The juice “thing” may be 6 tbs “of” juice. I also think lemon juice in a cherry pie would enhance the flavor. Ladies (and gents) any ideas?
It may just be 6 Tablespoons of the drained off liquid from the cherries too, I am not much of a baker..but it probably doesn’t make any difference just so it is liquid..:)
