Since it’s spring, here’s a fruity and sweet dessert you could also serve at a brunch. Blueberry crisp – reminds me of poor ol’ George eating that worm again. :-)
Blueberry Crisp (Nancy B)
4 c fresh berries
1/3 c sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
In bottom of pan
4 tbsp margarine
1/3 c brown sugar
Cream *
Add 1/3 c sifted flour
3/4 c quick oats
Mix *
*Mix w fork, put on top of berries
40 min, 375 – top with whatever
FYI Nancy B is Nancy Bloomstrand who was a good friend from church. Her husband was Carl and I think they and Gram and Grampa all went to the dance club.

I remember when we were visiting Gram one time (before Altzheimer’s) and she and I were walking through the neighborhood, she just reached right over and picked black berries! She dusted them off, gave me some, took some for herself and we continued on our walk. You couldn’t do that here – that’s for sure.

I do a combo blueberry/rhubarb crisp. In a normal strawberry rhubarb pie, add the crisp top, but substitute the strawberries for blue. AWESOME! Recipe coming soon, but you can make the exchange—add vanilla ice cream and HEAVEN!

That sounds really delicious! I haven’t played with rhubarb yet but I do like strawberry/rhubarb together. I will look for the recipe!
