Mystery Recipe

This one is only a mystery because the top of the paper has worn off over time, if there was a name there at all. Gram certainly loved to cut up these slips of paper, probably advertisements, to use as scratch pads. I finally figured out that these ones that have the big blue writing on them are for a car inspection service, maybe for emissions. My guess would be that puts these notes later in her life, simply because people didn’t seem worried about emissions until the 60s or 70s.

  1. At first I thought it was pie filling until I got to the large amount of flour, but now I think it’s a souffle! I think you mix up the lemon ingredients, then fold in the merengue, and then probably bake it.

  2. Ya got me as to what it is. I was thinking pie filling as well, but the flour amount is just not right. I don’t really think you’re supposed to fold the meringue into the lemon only because why would you sweeten the meringue if you were folding it into something that is already sweet? Mystery recipe is right. Let me ponder this one a while…
